Empire Off Campus is a student housing listing platform connecting landlords with college students in upstate New York. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around that information.
From landlords: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and contact information. When you publish listings, we collect your property details, photos, and contact preferences. We also store billing information processed through Stripe — we never store your full payment card details directly.
From students: Browsing listings requires no account and no personal information. If you create a student account, we collect your name and email address.
Automatically: We collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. We use this to understand how the platform is used and to improve it.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following cases:
We use cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain session state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at empireoffcampus@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify landlords by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
